Lab Technician

Responsibilities

• Monitor the quality of all raw and finished products through bacterial, chemical, and organoleptic evaluation
• Perform bacterial and chemical analysis of raw ingredients
• Monitor temperature and chemical concentration of sanitation systems
• Assess plant sanitation and general housekeeping
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment
• Summarize and report results and perform data entry
• Perform HACCP related tasks as assigned
• Support and maintain Saputo Dairy Products Canada G.P. quality standards

Requirements

• Grade 12 education
• University degree in Dairy Science, Food Science, or Microbiology, or a post-secondary diploma in Food Processing
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word and Excel)
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and work with minimal supervision
• Ability to work a flexible work week
• Previous laboratory experience is preferred
