Lab Technician

Responsibilities

• Gather samples and perform analytical testing on products, raw materials, and ingredients
• Document test results and enter laboratory data into the computer system
• Examine audit test results to identify issues with sanitation or manufacturing processes
• Alert management when products are out of specification or when food safety/quality problems arise
• Monitor inventory to determine necessary supply orders
• Maintain a clean, orderly work environment and train others on proper equipment use

Requirements

• Two-year Associates Degree in a Dairy or Food related field, or equivalent experience
• Strong math, inspection, and record-keeping skills
• Basic computer skills and ability to read meters and charts accurately
• Ability to work rotating night shifts (6pm-6am) and flexibility for weekends/overtime
• Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds and work in a cold storage environment (approx. 35°F)
• Ability to follow oral and written directions in a team environment
