Lab Technician

Responsibilities

• Prepare and apply liquid coating products and test them against specific customer requirements and specifications
• Plan and execute laboratory tasks independently following discussions with supervisors
• Observe and report unusual results, suggesting potential root causes
• Follow all PPG EH&S and safety guidelines strictly
• Maintain efficiency and solve problems within the laboratory area
• Contribute to internal presentations and support company processes

Requirements

• 2+ years of laboratory experience
• High School diploma or GED
• Experience working in a coatings laboratory environment
• Proven color matching experience
• Mechanically inclined and comfortable with hands-on benchwork and complex equipment
• Strong mathematical skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to read and interpret complex customer specifications
