Responsibilities

• Prepare polymer solutions, dopes, and reagent mixtures following established protocols
• Set up and execute reactions under direction from chemists and engineers
• Prepare samples for analytical testing including DSC/TGA, FTIR, SEM, and ICP-OES
• Perform basic wet chemistry measurements such as titrations, pH, and conductivity
• Maintain detailed, audit-ready lab notebooks documenting all procedures and results
• Manage chemical inventory, reagent orders, and waste disposal per EHS protocols
• Support scale-up trials by preparing bulk sample quantities

Requirements

• High school diploma
• 1-5 years of hands-on experience in a chemistry, polymer, or materials science laboratory
• Proficiency in bench chemistry including solution preparation and reaction set-up
• Experience handling organic solvents and hazardous materials
• Meticulous documentation skills and ability to follow SOPs precisely
• Willingness to relocate to Chattanooga, TN

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with analytical sample prep-equipment
• Ability to support multiple scientists and engineers simultaneously
