Lab Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing to meet PMO, Standard Methods for the Dairy Industry, and FDA 2400 requirements
• Pull, log, and run finished product and processing samples for chemical, microbiological, and shelf life analysis
• Audit CIP chemical concentrations and ensure compliance with company specifications
• Prepare media and lab controls including pour plates and buffer water
• Operate autoclave for sterilization of plates and equipment
• Assist in lab equipment preventative maintenance
• Inoculate batch tanks with enzymes and vitamins
• Conduct environmental testing including swabbing, air plating, and water sampling
• Verify plant equipment meets sanitation requirements prior to startup

Requirements

• BS/BA in a related science or equivalent quality role experience in food manufacturing
• Experience in food manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of food microbiology, chemistry, dairy standards, and CIP sanitation
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods (8+ hours)
• Ability to lift 25-40 lbs and carry 50-60 lbs frequently
