Lab Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing including chemical and bacteria testing to meet PMO, dairy industry, and FDA standards
• Pull, log, and run samples for finished products and processing
• Sample incoming raw materials and packaging for supplier acceptability
• Audit CIP chemical concentrations for compliance
• Prepare media, lab controls, pour plates, and buffer water
• Operate autoclave for sterilization and perform equipment PMs
• Inoculate batch tanks with enzymes and vitamins
• Manage incubator and cooler racking systems for shelf life testing
• Conduct environmental testing including swabbing, air plating, and water sampling
• Verify plant equipment meets sanitation requirements

Requirements

• Prior experience in food manufacturing
• Knowledge of food microbiology, chemistry, dairy standards, and CIP sanitation
• Intermediate computer skills (Word, Excel)
• Ability to work independently and multitask
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for a full shift
• Ability to work heights greater than 40 feet while operating a powered industrial truck
