About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory testing including chemical and bacteria testing to meet PMO, dairy industry, and FDA standards
- Pull, log, and run samples for finished products and processing
- Sample incoming raw materials and packaging for supplier acceptability
- Audit CIP chemical concentrations for compliance
- Prepare media, lab controls, pour plates, and buffer water
- Operate autoclave for sterilization and perform equipment PMs
- Inoculate batch tanks with enzymes and vitamins
- Manage incubator and cooler racking systems for shelf life testing
- Conduct environmental testing including swabbing, air plating, and water sampling
- Verify plant equipment meets sanitation requirements
Requirements
- Prior experience in food manufacturing
- Knowledge of food microbiology, chemistry, dairy standards, and CIP sanitation
- Intermediate computer skills (Word, Excel)
- Ability to work independently and multitask
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for a full shift
- Ability to work heights greater than 40 feet while operating a powered industrial truck
