Lab Technician

Responsibilities

• Support the installation, setup, and calibration of electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analysers, and power supplies
• Execute preventative maintenance programs and maintain a clean, safe lab environment
• Manage ESD countermeasures and ensure compliance with health and safety requirements
• Oversee asset management and the goods in/out process for the laboratories
• Support engineering teams with test bench setup, equipment configuration, and hardware bring up
• Generate standard operating procedures and provide technical guidance and training
• Assist engineering teams with board, cable, and wire modifications

Requirements

• Experience working in an electronics lab environment
• Strong technical understanding of electronic test equipment setup, calibration, and troubleshooting
• Good understanding of ESD prevention and controls
• Working knowledge of health and safety requirements in an electronics laboratory
• Experience in repair and modification of PCB assemblies to IPC-7711/21 and J-STD-001 standards
• Experience in cable and wire harness assemblies to drawings and IPC-620 standards
• Experience in IPC-A-610 Inspection
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams
• Effective communication skills and ability to mentor junior members

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using asset management systems for tracking test equipment and calibration status
• Experience collaborating with external subcontractors for technical services and facility upgrades
