Lab Tech Aide I

Responsibilities

• Perform waived and moderate complexity testing on manual, automated, and semi-automated platforms
• Process specimens and perform pre-analytic non-technical test setup according to department policy
• Assist Clinical Lab Scientists, Histology Techs, and Cytotechnologists with daily operations and preventative maintenance
• Operate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instrumentation under direction
• Manage laboratory requests, paperwork, and the Laboratory Information System (LIS)
• Maintain and restock supplies while disinfecting work areas to ensure safety and compliance
• Assist with pathology functions, including specimen preparation, staining, and slide/block management
• Support transfusion services by delivering blood components and managing inventory

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or higher degree
• One year of relevant laboratory or hospital experience, or an Associate's degree in a science-related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a science-related field
• Previous experience in an anatomic pathology laboratory
