Lab Robotics Engineer

Responsibilities

• Write production-quality Python code to control robotic platforms and integrate with lab instruments
• Design robotic systems using hardware components like Raspberry Pis, Arduinos, and custom electronic/mechanical parts
• Collaborate with scientists to productionize and scale new lab protocols
• Build and manage a fleet of robots and monitoring systems to address field issues

Requirements

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Biology, or relevant experience
• 3+ years of Python programming experience
• 1+ years of experience with molecular biology protocols and lab experience
• 1+ years of experience automating lab procedures using liquid handling systems (e.g., OpenTrons, Hamilton)
• Experience with software orchestration and deployment (e.g., Docker, Ansible)
• Experience with cloud platforms and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., AWS, Terraform)
• Experience writing software for Raspberry Pi
• Experience building QA, telemetry, and monitoring systems
• Experience working with Linux servers
• Experience with 3D printing and basic CAD modeling
• Experience with computer vision (e.g., OpenCV)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with C# and .NET frameworks for automation scripting
• Interest in biotechnology and DNA sequence analysis
