Lab Pack Chemist II

Responsibilities

• Identify, segregate, and package hazardous waste materials in accordance with Lab Pack policies and regulatory requirements.
• Perform onsite services including waste collection, consolidation, sampling, and safety/compliance inspections.
• Prepare shipments by inspecting, labeling, marking, and loading packaged waste into transport vehicles.
• Complete essential documentation such as shipping papers, Land Disposal Restrictions (LDRs), and certifications.
• Operate company vehicles to transport personnel and waste, maintaining a valid CDL with Hazmat endorsement.
• Conduct unknown field testing for chemical classification and packaging.
• Lead and coordinate field service jobs requiring multiple personnel and oversee small projects.
• Mentor new employees and assist sales teams with site walks and cost estimates.

Requirements

• Associate degree in General Science or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of one (1) year of lab pack experience.
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Hazardous Material endorsement.
• 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification.
• Advanced knowledge of EPA and DOT regulations.
• Physical ability to frequently lift and move materials exceeding 55 lbs.
• Ability to travel moderately, including approximately 20% overnight travel.

Preferred Qualifications

• BS/BA in a science-related field.
• Experience with Depack processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Previous experience with respirator and PPE training.
