About the role
Responsibilities
- Handle hazardous materials including inventorying, identifying, segregating, and packaging waste material
- Perform onsite services such as waste collection, consolidation, sampling, and safety inspections
- Prepare shipments by inspecting, labeling, marking, and loading waste into transport vehicles
- Complete documentation including shipping papers and Land Disposal Restrictions (LDRs)
- Adhere to all safety and security policies, including PPE requirements and Job Safety Analyses
Requirements
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in General Science or a related field
- Completion of 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training
- 40 hours of de-packing experience
- Valid driver's license with a safe driving record
- Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within 6 months
- Ability to obtain Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC) and TWIC card within 6 months
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and 75 pounds occasionally
- Ability to operate powered equipment such as a forklift
- Proficiency with Windows-based computer programs
Preferred Qualifications
- HAZMAT and/or Tanker endorsement
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
