Lab Pack Chemist I

Responsibilities

• Handle hazardous materials including inventorying, identifying, segregating, and packaging waste material
• Perform onsite services such as waste collection, consolidation, sampling, and safety inspections
• Prepare shipments by inspecting, labeling, marking, and loading waste into transport vehicles
• Complete documentation including shipping papers and Land Disposal Restrictions (LDRs)
• Adhere to all safety and security policies, including PPE requirements and Job Safety Analyses

Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in General Science or a related field
• Completion of 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training
• 40 hours of de-packing experience
• Valid driver's license with a safe driving record
• Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within 6 months
• Ability to obtain Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC) and TWIC card within 6 months
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and 75 pounds occasionally
• Ability to operate powered equipment such as a forklift
• Proficiency with Windows-based computer programs

Preferred Qualifications

• HAZMAT and/or Tanker endorsement
• Bachelor's degree in a related field
