Lab Operations Specialist

Responsibilities

• Perform primary cell culture and cryopreservation to support scientific programs
• Manage laboratory operations including stocking consumables and preparing media, reagents, and samples
• Coordinate biohazardous waste handling and maintain inventory organization
• Optimize cell culture processes, lab maintenance, and protocols for efficiency
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and address operational roadblocks
• Document learnings and progress in a data-driven manner

Requirements

• BS/MS in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Engineering, or related Life Sciences field
• 2-3 years of industry experience, specifically with primary cell culture
• Proficiency in cell and molecular biology techniques (cell-based assays, flow cytometry, qPCR, ELISA, microscopy, aseptic technique)
• Familiarity with EH&S and BSL2 safety standards
• Strong organizational and data-driven problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with lab automation or high-throughput systems (liquid handlers, robotic platforms)
• Experience supporting automated workflows including setup and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with inventory management software and electronic lab notebooks
