Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day technical and regulatory oversight of the laboratory
• Supervise laboratory testing personnel and ensure proper training and competency
• Maintain and employ the quality control program
• Resolve technical problems and ensure corrective actions are taken
• Oversee performance and calibration of all laboratory instrumentation
• Ensure compliance with CLIA and all CA state regulations and standards
• Enroll and participate in proficiency testing programs
• Oversee a team of Medical Assistants, LPNs, and other Laboratory personnel
• Manage staff schedules and maintain inventory
• Partner with Clinical teams to provide feedback on test selection and logistics

Requirements

• Current CA CLT license is required
• Minimum of 7 years in a high complexity clinical laboratory
• Experience in Hematology and Chemistry
• Extensive documentation and record maintenance experience
• Proficiency in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and CAPA
• Deep understanding of specimen preparation and LIMS to EMR data flows
• Bachelor's degree in Biological or Chemical sciences, Clinical Science, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification with ASCP or similar
• Experience with waived and moderate laboratory operations
• Experience with phlebotomy and patient-facing care
