Lab Demonstrator - Civil Engineering

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver engaging, hands-on laboratory sessions
• Demonstrate civil engineering experiments, equipment use, and software applications
• Support students during experiments, assisting with procedures, troubleshooting, and data interpretation
• Oversee daily operations of civil engineering laboratories, including scheduling and resource allocation
• Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot testing machines for soil, concrete, aggregates, and asphalt
• Maintain accurate equipment logs, calibration records, and service documentation
• Perform standard laboratory tests in accordance with ASTM, BS, and AASHTO methods
• Assist with surveying field and lab exercises including instrument setup and data processing
• Implement and enforce laboratory safety protocols and PPE usage

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
• Knowledge of experimental techniques, testing methodologies, and data analysis
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining laboratory equipment and instruments
• Commitment to safety and adherence to laboratory regulations
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certification in a related field
