Lab Chemist

Responsibilities

• Assist in conducting quality tests on raw materials, in-process products, and final products following standard laboratory procedures
• Support testing of feedstocks and product samples using analytical methods related to oils and fats
• Select and prepare samples for testing, including measuring, checking functionality, and comparing results to specifications
• Record test results, observations, and daily quality metrics such as defect counts
• Maintain accurate documentation and laboratory records in compliance with quality standards
• Support senior lab staff in inspecting production procedures to ensure efficiency and adherence to safety guidelines
• Report testing results and any deviations to senior laboratory personnel
• Monitor supplier performance by recording quality data for incoming raw materials
• Follow all lab safety rules, quality assurance guidelines, and standard operating procedures

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field
• Strong understanding of laboratory practices and safety procedures
• Experience in a laboratory environment, such as through internships or relevant coursework
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Good verbal and written communication skills
