Lab Assistant

Responsibilities

• Support ongoing laboratory activities and manage supply inventories, including packing, unpacking, and storing materials.
• Maintain and manage experimental animal colonies and perform related maintenance duties.
• Assist with molecular, cellular, and electrophysiological experiments, as well as minor animal surgeries.
• Ensure glassware and equipment are cleaned, properly stored, and maintained.
• Prepare stock solutions and buffers.
• Maintain accurate research records, files, and regulatory protocols (IRB/IACUC).
• Organize and archive collected animal and human subject data.

Requirements

• One year of experience working in a basic science laboratory environment.
• Background in neuroscience and/or cell biology.
• Experience working with rodents for behavioral experiments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data organization and spreadsheet management.
• Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail regarding data integrity and record keeping.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in neuroscience, biological sciences, molecular biology, computer science, engineering, or a related science field.
• Experience with graphing and statistical analysis.
