About the role
Responsibilities
- Support ongoing laboratory activities and manage supply inventories, including packing, unpacking, and storing materials.
- Maintain and manage experimental animal colonies and perform related maintenance duties.
- Assist with molecular, cellular, and electrophysiological experiments, as well as minor animal surgeries.
- Ensure glassware and equipment are cleaned, properly stored, and maintained.
- Prepare stock solutions and buffers.
- Maintain accurate research records, files, and regulatory protocols (IRB/IACUC).
- Organize and archive collected animal and human subject data.
Requirements
- One year of experience working in a basic science laboratory environment.
- Background in neuroscience and/or cell biology.
- Experience working with rodents for behavioral experiments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data organization and spreadsheet management.
- Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail regarding data integrity and record keeping.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in neuroscience, biological sciences, molecular biology, computer science, engineering, or a related science field.
- Experience with graphing and statistical analysis.
