Lab Assistant

Responsibilities

• Support ongoing laboratory activities and manage supply inventories, including glassware and equipment maintenance.
• Maintain and manage experimental animal colonies, including performing colony maintenance and assisting with minor animal surgeries.
• Assist with molecular, cellular, and electrophysiological experiments under supervision.
• Prepare stock solutions and buffers.
• Organize and archive collected animal and human subject data.
• Contribute to regulatory compliance (IRB/IACUC) by maintaining research progress reports, design history files, and regulatory protocols.
• Maintain accurate records, files, and data management systems.

Requirements

• One year of experience working in a basic science laboratory environment.
• Background in neuroscience and/or cell biology.
• Ability to work with rodents for behavioral experiments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data organization and advanced spreadsheet management.
• Experience with graphing, statistical analysis, and data management.
• Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in neuroscience, biological sciences, molecular biology, computer science, engineering, or a related science field.
