Lab Assistant

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily lab flow by checking order status and providing clerical services
• Follow health and safety protocols to maintain sanitary work areas
• Organize new lab orders and copy orders for retention requirements
• File results and follow lab send-out protocols
• Document final lab reports and ensure correct chart placement and physician notification
• Prepare and maintain neat, clean patient rooms
• Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and continuing needs to the team
• Support team efforts and contribute to efficient lab processes

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to read, speak, and write English
• Strong time management, organization, and attention to detail
• Observable professionalism, productivity, and customer service
• Successful completion of clinical orientation

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in health-related fields
• Knowledge of medical terminology
