Lab Analyst

Responsibilities

• Perform core analytical processes including sample preparation and analysis of raw materials, in-process materials, and new make spirit.
• Manage sample workflows using the LIMS system, ensuring accurate booking, analysis, and safe disposal.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation, ensuring regular servicing and calibration to meet business standards.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, including COSHH and Laboratory Quality Management Systems.
• Support continuous improvement projects by assisting in the development and verification of new analytical methods.
• Provide timely reporting and advice to production and bulk operations management based on analytical results.

Requirements

• Degree qualified in a relevant scientific discipline or equivalent analytical laboratory experience.
• Proven industry experience working in a laboratory environment.
• Strong knowledge of COSHH and laboratory Health & Safety practices.
• Proficiency in analytical instrumental techniques (e.g., HPLC, flow cytometry, nitrogen analysers, or densitometry).
• High level of computer literacy and experience with statistical analysis techniques.
• Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and organization.
• A valid UK driving licence.
