L1FM Engineer- Data& IP

Responsibilities

• Monitor network alarms and events continuously through NMS and OSS platforms on a 24x7 basis
• Perform surveillance across CMTS, XGS-PON, Cisco/Juniper routing & switching, and optical access networks
• Identify and prioritize service-impacting alarms based on severity and business impact
• Perform alarm correlation to eliminate duplicate events and identify root causes
• Create, update, and manage incident tickets within ITSM tools like ServiceNow, Remedy, or JIRA
• Execute first-level diagnostics, including verifying device reachability via Telnet, SSH, and PuTTY
• Check interface status, system logs, and CPU/memory utilization to support troubleshooting
• Coordinate with L2/L3 teams and field engineers for timely fault resolution
• Monitor alarms and analyze access network faults using Altiplano Access Management System (AMS)

Requirements

• B.Tech/B.E. in Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or IT, OR a Diploma in Electronics, Telecommunications, or Networking
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, Routing, Switching, and Ethernet concepts
• Knowledge of Cisco IOS/IOS-XE or Juniper Junos
• Familiarity with Broadband Access Networks and XGS-PON technology
• Experience with NMS/OSS platforms and ticketing tools (ServiceNow, Remedy, or JIRA)
• Knowledge of Altiplano AMS or similar access management systems

Preferred Qualifications

• CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification
• JNCIA (Juniper Networks Certified Associate) certification
• General Networking Fundamentals certifications
