L1 SOC Security Analyst Intern

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze security alerts from SIEM, XDR, SOAR, and Threat Intelligence Platforms to detect potential threats
• Conduct initial triage of security incidents and escalate advanced cases to L2 analysts
• Assist security engineers in configuring firewalls, XDR, and SOAR playbooks to automate workflows
• Analyze logs from network devices, servers, cloud environments, and endpoints to identify anomalies
• Support the development and testing of new detection rules and security policies
• Document security incidents, investigation steps, and outcomes in the incident management system
• Contribute to the refinement of SOC processes, playbooks, and escalation workflows

Requirements

• Foundational understanding of cybersecurity concepts, including common attacks and threats
• Ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical security scenarios
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and innovative skills
• Enthusiasm for learning about Cybersecurity, IT, Operational Technology, Edge, and Cloud technologies
• Willingness to work on a rotating 3 days work/rest shift cycle

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with malware analysis methods and investigation tools
• Experience with a scripting language
• Knowledge of network protocols and Windows OS
• Possession of professional Cyber or IT certifications
