Know Your Customer Operations Specialist

Responsibilities

• Conduct end-to-end Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) for complex or high-risk KYC cases.
• Monitor, investigate, and provide opinions on alerts generated by KYC systems in accordance with internal policies.
• Review and verify high-risk customer identification documentation during the onboarding process.
• Ensure timely escalation of high-risk cases to appropriate teams for further investigation.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including compliance, legal, and customer support teams.
• Communicate with customers to request additional KYC-related information or documentation when required.
• Contribute to the development of KYC operational processes, guidelines, and reporting requirements.

Requirements

• Degree in Economics, Finance, Banking, Business Administration, or a similar field.
• 2+ years of professional experience in AML/KYC, Compliance, Audit, or Anti-Financial Crime within the financial services or fintech sector.
• Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to investigate complex issues.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of German regulatory frameworks and KYC best practices.
• Familiarity with KYC software, screening tools, and digital banking/payment platforms.
• Relevant professional AML/KYC accreditations, such as ACAMS or similar.
• Fluency in German.
