About the role
Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen and dining room
- Wash kitchen utensils, equipment, and dishes using a dishwasher or by hand
- Put away clean dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans
- Stock supplies in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, or salad bars
- Sweep and wash floors
- Sort and remove trash to designated pickup areas
- Perform food preparation duties such as salad bar and cold dishes as directed
- Assist in unloading and putting away deliveries
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude with coworkers and customers
- Communicate regularly with management via calls, emails, and texts
Requirements
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Working knowledge of operating a commercial dishwasher
- Familiarity with industry best practices
- Ability to stand for long periods (up to 8+ hours)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Capability to work in environments with extreme heat, cold, or loud noise
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous restaurant dishwashing experience
- Valid food safety handler and sanitation certification
- High school or vocational coursework in kitchen basics
- Ability to pass a background check
