Kitchen & Service Assistant

Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Cook with mise en place, including washing, chopping, weighing, and portioning ingredients
• Label all items leaving the kitchen with name, date, quantity, and use-by date
• Stage items by school, service time, or route as directed
• Pack and deliver food to spoke schools, maintaining temperature standards and ensuring on-time arrival
• Assemble lunch trays and organize pre-order pickups for students
• Stock and maintain the grab-and-go café fridge and pantry shelves
• Operate the grab-and-go checkout accurately and warmly
• Perform kitchen cleaning, including sanitizing equipment and end-of-shift breakdown

Requirements

• Experience in a kitchen, café, or food service environment
• Strong attention to detail regarding labeling and portioning
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license (if delivery is required)
• Food handler's certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
