Kitchen Prep Assistant

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for use in recipes for both hot and cold food production
• Read recipes and prepare food items to exact specifications
• Assist with the setup, service, and clean-up of food serving lines
• Serve food while adhering to portion control and serving procedures
• Monitor and record refrigerator and freezer temperature readings
• Assist with cold food production and assembly for catering functions
• Operate cold food preparation equipment
• Provide thorough cleaning of storage, cooking, serving, and dispensing equipment
• Adhere to all safety, sanitation, and food handling guidelines

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Current ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months of employment
• Two years of food service or closely related experience
• Working knowledge of basic food preparation techniques
• Ability to follow written and oral directions
• Strong multi-tasking skills and commitment to customer service
• Demonstrated reliability and a neat, clean appearance
