About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee the operational management of kitchen processes and ensure high-quality standards in food production
- Develop, plan, and implement balanced menu plans considering quality, variety, and cost-effectiveness
- Lead, schedule, and motivate the kitchen team, including recruitment, onboarding, and professional development
- Ensure strict compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards, including HACCP
- Manage budgets and cost controls for raw materials, personnel, and operating expenses
- Optimize purchasing and inventory processes to minimize waste and manage stock levels
- Perform administrative tasks such as inventory audits, invoice verification, and reporting based on key performance indicators
Requirements
- Completed training as a Chef, ideally with a Kitchen Master (Küchenmeister) or equivalent qualification in gastronomy/hotel management
- Multi-year professional experience in a leadership role within a large-scale kitchen, company restaurant, or communal catering
- Proven experience in staff leadership, personnel scheduling, and budget/inventory management
- In-depth knowledge of food hygiene, quality management, and legal regulations (including HACCP certification)
- Strong commercial understanding of cost calculation, procurement, and reporting
- High level of team orientation, responsibility, and a solution-oriented communication style
