About the role
Responsibilities
- Inspect, maintain, and repair kitchen equipment including ovens, stoves, grills, refrigerators, freezers, and dishwashers
- Service laundry equipment such as washers, dryers, steamers, and ironers
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to avoid equipment breakdowns
- Respond quickly to urgent repair requests from kitchen and housekeeping departments
- Diagnose faults in electrical and mechanical systems
- Coordinate with vendors for specialized repairs or parts procurement
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and fire regulations for electrical and gas appliances
- Maintain documentation of maintenance activities and equipment history
- Assist in the installation and setup of new equipment
Requirements
- Technical diploma or certification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Refrigeration trades
- 2–3 years of relevant experience in a hotel or commercial kitchen/laundry environment
- Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and gas systems
- Ability to read equipment manuals, technical diagrams, and schematics
- Basic computer skills for reporting and maintenance logs
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and be on-call if needed
