About the role
Responsibilities
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness within the kitchen and storage areas
- Sort donations and deliveries and liaise with the loading dock staff
- Organize food storage units, including coolers and freezers
- Perform regular inventory of purchased and donated items
- Ensure proper food handling and "first in, first out" practices to maintain safety
- Manage waste disposal, including compost, recycling, and garbage bins
- Assist with dishwashing duties and follow legislative cleaning standards
Requirements
- High school completion
- Six months of related kitchen experience, preferably in an institutional setting
- Current WHMIS and FoodSafe certification (or willingness to be trained)
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs and stand for long periods
- Ability to pass a Criminal Record Review clearance
- Availability to work casual/on-call shifts, including weekends
Preferred Qualifications
- Training in Naloxone, First Aid with CPR, Mental Health First Aid, or Non-Violent Crisis Intervention
- Additional language skills
