Kitchen Helper

Responsibilities

• Perform food preparation including slicing vegetables, making sauces, marinating meats, baking, and portioning ingredients
• Follow daily bulk prep lists and "Grab n’ Go" order sheets for various Retail Dining locations
• Ensure food items meet quality standards for taste, presentation, and freshness
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work areas, including washing dishes and managing trash/compost
• Adhere to food safety and sanitation practices
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth service operations

Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled as a student at Middlebury College
• Completion of SERVsafe training and passing a 40-question test within 14 days of hiring
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends
• Physically able to lift 10-15 pounds frequently and up to 45 pounds occasionally
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform frequent bending and overhead reaching
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in food service
