Kitchen Assistant & Transporter

Responsibilities

• Assist the cook with meal preparation following specific menus and quantity guidelines
• Maintain sanitary food practices in accordance with state and local requirements
• Ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, including refrigerators, stoves, and ovens
• Transport and distribute meals to various Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) sites
• Communicate daily participant counts between summer camps and the kitchen
• Complete meal count sheets for SFSP sites and maintain understanding of USDA requirements

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalency credential
• One year of experience in commercial kitchens or equivalent food service experience
• ServSafe certification
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel to various sites
• Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds independently, and up to 50 pounds with assistance
• Ability to push and pull food carts up to 100 pounds
• Successful completion of a criminal record check
