Kitchen Assistant

Responsibilities

• Perform daily food preparation for both hot and cold meals
• Manage inventory, stock refrigerators, and maintain cafeteria supplies
• Process deliveries and organize donation drop-offs
• Maintain high standards of general cleaning, sanitation, and dishwashing
• Uphold all kitchen guidelines, health, and safety rules
• Attend regular staff meetings and perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• 6+ months of experience in hot and cold food preparation
• Valid Oregon Food Handler's Card
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Physical ability to lift, push, pull, or carry 50+ pounds of food and supplies
• A nonjudgmental attitude and the ability to handle difficult situations positively

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within a non-profit organization
• Direct or lived experience understanding issues surrounding homelessness, chemical dependency, domestic violence, or sexual assault
