About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for students and families via in-person, phone, email, and virtual communication.
- Provide accurate, student-centered guidance regarding registration, billing, financial aid, and academic processes.
- Utilize an "advisor-lite" approach to help students understand their options, implications, and next steps for enrollment and financial decisions.
- Take ownership of student inquiries from initial contact through resolution, ensuring consistent follow-through.
- Coordinate with partner offices including Financial Aid, Registrar, Student Accounts, and Academic Advising to resolve complex issues.
- Support students with registration (add/drop, overrides), financial aid documentation, and billing navigation.
- Conduct proactive outreach regarding key deadlines, missing requirements, and enrollment milestones.
- Document all student interactions and identify recurring process barriers to support continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Experience working in higher education or high-level customer service fields.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Sensitivity to cultural diversity and the ability to interact effectively with people from all backgrounds.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and work within complex institutional systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of "one-stop" enrollment processes, including financial aid, student accounts, registrar functions, and academic advising.
- Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Ability to analyze data and information to make informed, independent decisions.
- Highly motivated and results-oriented professional.
