Kaiako - Kōhanga Reo | Early Childhood Education

Responsibilities

• Work confidently within a fully immersed kaupapa Māori environment using te reo Māori as the primary language
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of tikanga Māori, mātauranga Māori, and the Kōhanga Reo kaupapa
• Build authentic and respectful relationships with tamariki, whānau, and colleagues
• Apply current ECE theory and Te Whāriki within daily practice
• Contribute positively to a collaborative, kaupapa-driven team environment

Requirements

• Fluent te reo Māori in everyday practice
• Recognised New Zealand ECE or primary teaching qualification
• Current teacher registration
• Proven experience as a qualified ECE kaiako
• Strong understanding of Te Whāriki and kaupapa Māori education
