About the role
Responsibilities
- Monitor, debug, and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for service failures
- Provide on-call service coverage within a larger group
- Provide RCAs for critical and recurring incidents
- Prepare SOPs, architecture diagrams, and operational manuals
- Provide subject matter expertise to guide and coach L2 Engineers
- Provide recommendations for service improvement
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience specifically in Kafka technology
- Technical proficiency in Cloudera, Confluent, and open source Kafka
- Expertise in Kafka and Zookeeper
- Experience in capacity planning and performance tuning
- Expertise in Hadoop security implementation (Ranger, Kerberos, SSL, etc.)
- Proficiency with DevOps tools: Ansible, Nagios, Shell scripting, Python, Jenkins, Git, and Maven
- Knowledge of network infrastructure (TCP/IP, DNS, Firewall, router, load balancer)
- Strong understanding of multi-threading and concurrency concepts
- Associate level Cloud certification from a major CSP
- Kafka Certification
Preferred Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech/MCA in Computer Science
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
