About the role
Responsibilities
- Monitor, debug, and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for service failures
- Provide RCAs for critical and recurring incidents
- Provide on-call service coverage within a larger group
- Prepare SOPs, architecture diagrams, and operational manuals
- Provide recommendations for service improvement
- Act as Subject Matter Expert to guide and coach L2 Engineers
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience specifically in Kafka technology
- Technical proficiency in Cloudera, Confluent, or open-source Kafka
- Expertise in Kafka and Zookeeper
- Experience in capacity planning and performance tuning
- Expertise in Hadoop security implementation (Ranger, Kerberos, SSL, etc.)
- Proficiency with DevOps tools: Ansible, Nagios, Shell scripting, Python, Jenkins, Git, and Maven
- Knowledge of network infrastructure (TCP/IP, DNS, Firewall, Load Balancers)
- Strong understanding of multi-threading and concurrency concepts
- B.E./B.Tech/MCA in Computer Science preferred

- Associate level Cloud certifications
- Kafka Certification
