K-8 Principal

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional leadership by developing, implementing, and evaluating curriculum aligned with Michigan academic standards.
• Supervise, support, and evaluate certified and support staff to promote professional growth and instructional excellence.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive school culture through effective student behavior and discipline practices.
• Utilize student achievement data to inform instructional decisions and school improvement efforts.
• Manage daily school operations, including scheduling, attendance, transportation coordination, and facilities management.
• Build strong partnerships with parents, families, and local community members through transparent communication.
• Develop and administer the school budget in collaboration with the Superintendent.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Educational Leadership, Educational Administration, or a related field (or currently enrolled with near-term completion).
• Valid Michigan School Administrator Certificate or eligibility to obtain certification.
• Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in an educational setting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience serving as a building administrator.
• Experience in curriculum development, instructional coaching, and school improvement planning.
• Knowledge of Michigan school finance, state accountability systems, and special education requirements.
• Experience with PBIS and working within a rural school district.
