About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide care, supervision, and security for adolescents and children residing at the Edmund L. Thomas Adolescent Center.
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to support rehabilitation and social development.
- Monitor resident behavior, physical health, and emotional well-being, including administering medication as directed.
- Plan and participate in daily physical fitness, recreational, and educational activities.
- Maintain detailed daily observation reports, conduct records, and prepare summaries for the Juvenile Court.
- Implement constructive discipline and behavior modification techniques to encourage pro-social behavior.
- Collaborate with families, medical staff, schoolteachers, and legal professionals to coordinate care and case management.
- Ensure programmatic standards meet Department of Public Welfare 3800 regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Behavioral Sciences, an Associate's Degree, or a minimum of 60 college credits.
- At least 1 year of experience working with adolescents.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Ability to obtain Safe Crisis Management (SCM) certification.
- Ability to obtain Pennsylvania Criminal and Child Abuse Clearances and FBI fingerprint clearance.
