Requirements

About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide support and supervision to residents to ensure emotional, psychological, and physical needs are met
- Monitor resident activities, curfews, and security cameras to maintain a safe residential environment
- Perform regular facility checks, including wellness checks, room checks, and security rounds
- Document daily activities, resident behaviors, and incidents in logbooks and incident reports
- Assist in connecting clients with community health supports and resources
- Prepare and present shift exchanges to ensure consistency in care and information sharing
- Administer medication to residents and respond to medical emergencies as required
- Maintain professional boundaries and follow all program policies and procedures
Requirements
- Post-secondary diploma in Corrections, Social Justice, Addictions, or a related field
- Minimum of one year of experience working with provincial or federal clientele
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- First Aid/CPR and Mental Health First Aid certifications
- Ability to pass CSC Personnel Screening, including Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector checks
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to lift objects up to 30 lbs and walk up three flights of stairs
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within the field of Mental Health and Addictions
- Training in Trauma-Informed Care, De-escalation, or Narcan/Naloxone administration
- Demonstrated understanding of the Behaviour Based Model
- Awareness of Indigenous culture
