Junior Traffic & Transportation Planning Engineer

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering assignments and multi-modal planning studies for road, highway, and transit projects
• Analyze transportation data using intersection capacity analysis and microsimulation software
• Contribute to feasibility studies, business case development, and transportation planning reports
• Develop technical reports and deliver presentations to internal and external stakeholders
• Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and the public through advisory committees and engagement forums
• Identify planning and project risks and opportunities through data and trend analysis

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Traffic & Transportation Planning
• Experience with intersection capacity analysis software such as HCS, Synchro, or Arcady
• Experience with microsimulation software such as Vissim, Aimsun, or TransModeler
• Proficiency in GIS software including ArcGIS or QGIS
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and presentations

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of In-Design, Illustrator, or other design-related software
• Experience with AutoCAD
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as JavaScript or Python
• Experience with SharePoint or MS Access
