About the role
Responsibilities
- Design electric freight corridors by analyzing freight flows and identifying high-potential electrification use cases
- Estimate energy demand (MWh) and peak load (MW) for EV charging infrastructure
- Assess grid readiness at the feeder and substation level to identify network constraints and upgrade requirements
- Evaluate the integration of renewable energy and storage systems, including peak load management and load shifting opportunities
- Build data-driven models for demand estimation, load profiling, and scenario analysis
- Develop temporal load curves based on charging behavior and freight operations
- Contribute to technical reports, research papers, policy briefs, and whitepapers
- Engage with utilities, industry stakeholders, and infrastructure providers to support program delivery
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in power systems, energy modeling, or EV charging/energy systems
- Strong understanding of distribution systems (feeders, substations, load basics) and electricity demand modeling
- Familiarity with EV charging systems and renewable energy integration
- Strong quantitative and problem-solving skills
- Ability to translate real-world operational data into structured, scalable models
- Comfortable working with evolving datasets and in a self-driven, evolving environment
