Junior Sous Chef

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistency in the preparation of all food items for a la carte and buffet menus according to hotel recipes and standards
• Support the Sous Chef in food preparation, quality control, and team supervision
• Conduct daily shift briefings to kitchen colleagues in the absence of the Sous Chef
• Maintain proper rotation of product in all chillers to minimize wastage and spoilage
• Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, utensils, and equipment
• Follow all kitchen policies, safety, and sanitation procedures when handling food and beverage
• Liaise with the Outlet Chef to communicate guest feedback and maintain service standards

Requirements

• Previous experience in the culinary field
• Journeyman’s papers or an international equivalent
• Knowledge of Peruvian cuisine and traditional cooking methods
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
• Highly responsible and reliable with a team-oriented mindset

Preferred Qualifications

• Diploma Certification in a culinary discipline
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows applications
• Prior experience working with Opera or a related hospitality system
• Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus
