Junior Signage & Wayfinding Designer

Responsibilities

• Support the design of signage and wayfinding systems for transit, civic, corporate, and mixed-use projects
• Develop concept designs, mood boards, and visual directions under senior guidance
• Create layouts for signage families, message schedules, and information hierarchies
• Assist with digital and physical mockups for signage forms, materials, and finishes
• Prepare clear presentation documents that explain design thinking and process
• Produce and refine vector artwork and production-ready files for environmental graphics
• Help assemble drawing sheets and documentation packages, including sign location plans and elevations
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including architects, interior designers, and engineers

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or recognized college diploma in Graphic Design or a closely related field
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat
• Strong fundamentals in typography, layout, grid systems, and information hierarchy
• A portfolio demonstrating design process, research, ideation, and iterations
• Ability to communicate design rationale both visually and verbally
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with 3D modeling tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Blender, Rhino, or Fusion 360
• Experience with physical prototyping, including 3D printing, woodworking, or laser cutting
• Interest in how signage exists as an object in space, including scale, ergonomics, and materiality
