Junior Road Engineer (Shop Drawings)

Responsibilities

• Prepare road and road furniture shop drawings, including layouts, setting out, grading, and longitudinal profiles.
• Create cross sections, kerb layouts, pavement drawings, and road marking drawings.
• Review IFC drawings to identify mismatches, conflicts, and technical issues.
• Extract essential data such as levels, coordinates, chainages, and slopes from design models.
• Prepare Civil 3D outputs including alignments, surfaces, corridors, and quantity take-offs.
• Coordinate road drawings with utilities, drainage, structures, traffic diversions, and street lighting.
• Identify clashes such as grading conflicts, utility cover level issues, and road tie-in problems.
• Check road grading against drainage requirements to prevent ponding or reverse slopes.
• Support the Senior Road Engineer with drawing trackers, submission updates, and progress reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 1 to 3 years of experience in road design, road shop drawings, or infrastructure drafting.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Solid understanding of road geometry, pavement layers, and road levels.
• Knowledge of drainage interfaces, including gullies, manholes, and catch basins.
• Ability to read IFC drawings, standard details, and technical specifications.
• Proficiency in MS Excel.
• Fresh graduates may be considered if they demonstrate exceptional AutoCAD and Civil 3D skills.
