Junior Raceway Technician

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and remove low-voltage pathway systems and related physical network equipment across the ISU campus
• Perform structured cabling and low-voltage electrical support for network infrastructure projects
• Work under the guidance of senior staff to support network administration
• Participate in the ABC of Iowa Apprenticeship Program to build proficiency in structured cabling and network pathways
• Work toward obtaining an Electrical Journeyman License

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2 years of related experience
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with networking technologies including switches, routers, fiber, copper, and patch panels
• Familiarity with structured cabling, network pathways, and low-voltage electrical systems
• Enrollment in or eligibility for the ABC of Iowa Apprenticeship Program
• Desire to advance toward an Electrical Journeyman License
