Junior Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support the design and development of mechanical components and assemblies
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks
• Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback
• Assist with prototype builds, test setups, and validation activities
• Document engineering work including BOMs, ECOs, and design notes
• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions on hardware issues
• Collaborate with manufacturing, electrical, and product teams

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Professional mechanical design experience
• Foundational skills in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
• Basic understanding of GD&T and engineering drawing standards
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes like sheet metal, injection molding, or machining
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, or have asylee/refugee status (ITAR)

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with UAVs, robotics, or electromechanical systems
• Exposure to FEA tools like SolidWorks Simulation
• Familiarity with PDM/PLM systems
• Interest in advanced materials like carbon fiber composites
• Experience with prototype fabrication or hands-on testing
