Junior Lighting Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and execute lighting for university events, recordings, and productions, including the upcoming Athletic Complex
• Provide day-to-day lighting support and on-call assistance to faculty, staff, and students
• Manage inventory and perform routine maintenance on all university lighting equipment
• Supervise and provide training to Media Services Student Workers and Graduate Assistants
• Recommend the purchase of new lighting equipment and systems
• Assist in the installation of AV equipment across campus and safely operate vehicles for equipment transport

Requirements

• 1-3 years of hands-on experience with audiovisual equipment (sound, video, computers)
• Proficiency in deploying Lighting Networks, DMX setup, and EOS lighting consoles
• Demonstrated ability to successfully supervise others
• Ability to lift 50-75 lbs, climb ladders, and move heavy equipment
• Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as required
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cooperatively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

• 3-5 years of audiovisual experience
• Formal ETC training or certification
• Familiarity with industry-standard lighting control protocols and platforms
