Junior Infrastructure Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud and on-premise infrastructure.
• Assist in implementing infrastructure initiatives including data collection pipelines, dashboards, metrics, logging, and alerting.
• Monitor system performance to identify potential bottlenecks and support optimization efforts.
• Assist in incident response and troubleshooting, learning root cause analysis practices.
• Work with observability tools such as Prometheus, Datadog, New Relic, and VictoriaMetrics.
• Help configure and maintain alerts based on defined thresholds.
• Develop automation scripts for repetitive monitoring and alerting tasks.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to learn cloud and infrastructure best practices.
• Support capacity planning and dashboard maintenance to provide real-time system health insights.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent bootcamp/self-taught experience.
• 0-2 years of systems administration or engineering experience (internships and co-ops included).
• Basic understanding of monitoring principles and best practices.
• Familiarity with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or New Relic.
• Basic exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Scripting experience in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Basic understanding of layer 2/3 networking concepts (VLANs, routing, ACLs).
• Understanding of Windows Server and/or Linux systems.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with an eagerness to learn.
