Junior Hydrogeology Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform sampling of soil, surface water, groundwater, and other mediums
• Supervise environmental drilling, installation of observation wells, and exploration trenches
• Oversee site rehabilitation works for contaminated sites, including treatment units and pumping wells
• Conduct groundwater, biogas, and surveying measurements, as well as permeability and pumping tests
• Calibrate, use, and maintain specialized sampling and analysis equipment
• Supervise subcontractors on-site and assist in site meetings
• Prepare field notes, daily reports, technical memos, and draft as-built plans
• Support technical office tasks including data compilation and quality control of result tables
• Maintain rigorous health and safety plans to ensure a secure working environment

Requirements

• College or university diploma related to the environment (geology, civil engineering, mineralogy, etc.)
• Valid ASP Construction card
• Valid driver's license
• 0 to 2 years of experience in environmental field work, characterization, or monitoring
• Availability to travel outside the Quebec City region
• Ability to work variable schedules and meet tight deadlines within a multidisciplinary team
