Junior Groomer

Responsibilities

• Participate in a ten-week training program to learn fundamental grooming tasks including bathing, drying, brushing, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and gland cleaning
• Perform limited grooming services under the close supervision of experienced groomers
• Ensure the well-being, safety, and comfort of every animal in the salon at all times
• Interact professionally with pet parents to provide optimal customer service and address inquiries
• Maintain a clean and safe grooming environment by disinfecting tools and performing daily cleaning duties
• Manage grooming appointments, paperwork, and accurate pet records

Requirements

• 0-1 year of animal-related experience (e.g., shelter volunteering or pet sitting)
• Genuine passion for animals and a desire to pursue a career in pet grooming
• Basic understanding of dog breeds, behavior, and common grooming practices
• Ability to handle pets of all sizes and temperaments with care and empathy
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required by the schedule

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience as a grooming salon assistant
• High school diploma or GED
