Junior Frontend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build user-facing features, including UI components, data models, and API integrations
• Contribute to the sync and real-time collaboration layer using local-first architecture
• Apply browser-level performance techniques using Service Workers and IndexedDB
• Optimize UI rendering paths through virtualization, memoization, and selective re-renders
• Implement instrumentation, analytics, and monitoring for new features
• Work with TypeScript tooling and build pipelines including Vite and Rolldown
• Participate in open-source work by contributing patches and reviewing community PRs

Requirements

• 2–4 years of professional frontend experience
• Solid working knowledge of TypeScript and React (hooks, component composition, context)
• Practical experience with React Router and state management (MobX, Redux, or Zustand)
• Proficiency in modern CSS and utility-first frameworks like Tailwind
• Strong instincts for design, UI details, and micro-interactions
• Ability to work effectively in a small, fast-moving team
• A proactive, prototyping mindset and a desire to learn

Preferred Qualifications

• Contributions to open-source projects
• Exposure to rich-text editor frameworks like ProseMirror, CodeMirror, Lexical, or Tiptap
• Familiarity with Service Workers, IndexedDB, or offline-first patterns
• Experience with Electron or desktop app packaging
• Prior experience with project management or collaboration products
